Statbot API — Developer Terms of Service

Effective Date: July 29, 2025
Owner: Black Label Development, LLC
(Statbot is a product of Black Label Development, LLC)

By accessing or using the Statbot API ("API"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") in addition to Statbot's Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the API.

Parties
"Statbot," "we," "us," and "our" mean Black Label Development, LLC. "You" and "your" mean the person or legal entity using the Statbot API, including the Discord guild that holds the API key and any developer or agent acting on that guild's behalf.

0. Discord Platform Rules

If you use the Statbot API with Discord services, you must comply with Discord's Developer Terms of Service, Developer Policy, and API rate‑limit rules, as amended from time to time. If these Terms conflict with Discord's developer requirements for conduct on Discord's platform, Discord's rules govern that conduct; otherwise, these Terms control your use of the Statbot API.

References:

1. API Status

The API is experimental, provided as‑is, may change at any time without notice, and may introduce breaking changes. Production use is at your own risk.

2. Eligibility & Premium Requirement

Access to the API is available only to Discord guilds that have all required Statbot Premium upgrades active: History, Data+, Statdocks+, Statroles+, and Drilldowns. If any required upgrade lapses, API requests are blocked immediately until the missing upgrade(s) are restored.

3. Access, Authentication, and Keys

  • API access requires a valid Bearer token (API key).
  • Keys are tied to a single guild and may not be used to access data for any other guild.
  • Keys can be generated by Elevated Users in the dashboard: Server Settings → Developers → API Key.
  • You must keep your key confidential and rotate/revoke it if compromised. Your guild can self‑rotate keys in the dashboard.

4. Rate Limiting

We enforce rate limits to protect service stability. Limits may change without notice. Your application must read and honor rate‑limit headers in responses:

  • x-ratelimit-limit — maximum requests in the window
  • x-ratelimit-remaining — requests remaining
  • x-ratelimit-reset — seconds until reset
  • retry-after — wait time after exceeding the limit

Clients should back off when instructed and may be throttled or suspended for ignoring limits.

5. Acceptable Use

Permitted Use

  • You may build internal or commercial applications for the key‑owning guild and within that guild's scope. Commercial use is allowed; reselling our data is not.

Prohibited Use

  • Reselling, redistributing, or repackaging raw API output or derived datasets to third parties.
  • Providing a proxy or wrapper that exposes Statbot data or API access to others.
  • Using a key to access any guild other than the one to which the key is issued.

Caching
Temporary caching to improve performance is allowed. Building persistent stores or cross‑guild datasets for resale or broad redistribution is prohibited. Upon request, you must delete cached or stored Statbot data.

6. Data Scope & Expectations

Statbot builds on top of Discord's API. Developers are expected to retrieve Discord resources (for example, roles and permissions) from Discord directly. As a limited exception, Statbot's API exposes historical channel data that Discord does not.

7. Monitoring & Enforcement

We monitor usage and may throttle, suspend, or terminate access immediately for abuse, security concerns, or violations of these Terms.

8. Changes, Deprecation, and Availability

We may modify, deprecate, or discontinue any endpoint, schema, or feature at any time without notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. No service‑level agreements (SLAs) or uptime guarantees are provided.

9. Ownership

As between you and us, Black Label Development, LLC owns the API, documentation, schemas, software, and all related intellectual property. These Terms do not grant any rights to Statbot trademarks, logos, or branding.

10. Privacy

Do not send more personal data than necessary. You are responsible for complying with applicable data‑protection laws when processing any data using the API. We may retain operational logs for security and diagnostic purposes consistent with these Terms and our policies.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Black Label Development, LLC and its officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your applications, your use of the API, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE API IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON‑INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING OUT OF COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Black Label Development, LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE API WILL NOT EXCEED US$100.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access immediately if you violate these Terms, abuse the API, expose security risks, or if required by law. You may stop using the API at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will do so, including Ownership, Privacy, Indemnification, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Governing Law, and Dispute Resolution.

15. Age

You must be at least 13 years old to use the API and otherwise comply with Discord's minimum‑age requirements.

16. Governing Law & Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict‑of‑law principles. You consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state or federal courts located in Ohio for any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms.
